After spending a few days in Paris, I finally got a chance today to visit the Eiffel Tower up close. Here is my first impression (in haiku form):
Iron veins twisted
Into perfect harmony
City soul, soaring
Today also happens to be Fête de la Musique in France, which is a national holiday to celebrate music. Live performers and DJs lined the streets this evening. Even now, as I write this, it is nearly midnight and music is blaring into my room from the open window. The low rumble of bass is shaking the apartment building and hundreds of people are chanting. Did I mention it’s a Wednesday?
What a life they live here in Paris.
